Eun Sang: “You weren’t sleeping.”
Tan continues to talk, but he isn’t translating anymore.
Tan: “He met a girl yesterday. And that girl’s name is Cha Eun Sang.”
Eun Sang: “How did you learn my name?”
Tan: “But now he has something he wants to know from Cha Eun Sang. Perhaps…”
Tan turns to face Eun Sang. “Do I like you?”
Eun Sang: probably no.
Tan: why
Eun Sang: He’s engaged.
Tan: Still
Eun Sang: It’s like a movie.
Tan: it’s Hollywood. Things like that happen.
Eun Sang: Really, this is Hollywood?
Tan: What?
Outside,
Eun Sang: Wow it’s really Hollywood. I saw that in movie (Hollywood Sign)
Tan: What I said in the theater was stranger.
Eun Sang turns the conversation to Hollywood. She said when she reach US she wanted to go there. Tan takes the hint. He advices her to go tomorrow. Eun Sang: I’m not going.
Tan: I’ll take you.
Eun Sang: I’ve already asked too much from you. Let me get my stuff from you.
Back at Tan’s house, the suitcase is outside. Tan looks at the suitcase wordlessly.
Eun Sang picks up her suitcase.
Eun Sang: I'm sorry to bother you but can you check one more time for the reply.
Tan is silent.
Eun Sang: Thanks for everything. I will go.
Tan takes suitcase inside house.
Tan looks at cellphone. CY’s message is there. Eun Sang asks for her luggage. (he doesn't want her to leave!) Tan hides cellphone. Tan says that her luggage is in his room. He is going to take a shower. She can come in if she wants. Tan tells her to wait for CY’s message.
Rachel left a message at the engagement photo frame. "I ate lunch alone. Let’s eat dinner together".
Secretary Yoon calls Tan to tell him about the meeting. Tan asks, does Won know and does he want me there? Secretary Yoon just tells him his dad wants him there.
Secretary Yoon gives a sigh of pity.
BN calls Yoon “Dad!” Yoon corrects her “Ahjusshi.” BN squeals on CY. Dad says bad CY. BN says don’t say bad things about CY. Yet again, he ask her to call him Ajusshi..she replied: Ahjusshi is Won Bin (lol)
BN in room with Lee Hyo Shin. The girls came with gifts for HS. BN give the girls a hard time. They grumble and leave.
HS is keeping his activities as part of the school broadcasting club a secret.
Tan is dressed up to leave. ES says she will leave. Tan tells her not to leave. She keep saying that she's being burdensome to him. He said: Say that again, and I will sell you off.
Jay is back at Tan's house. Worried to leave EunSang with Jay, Tan: Do you get carsick?
Eun Sang: Where are we going?
Tan: Just Sleep. It's gonna be a while.
Tan and ES give each other meaningful looks while driving there to the almond orchard.
Tan’s mom is at country club with other rich friend. Friend is advising mom to get the Kim’s wife to seem like she is committing an affair. Gives her the number to hire a guy.
Tan’s mom is making that phone call but ES’s mom is there. Tan’s mom and ES’s mom have a certain repertoire that is very, very cute with Tan’s mom’s maturity really lacking.
Tan gives ES car keys. Tan says he doesn’t know if he will be kicked out in five minutes or not. Tells her to be careful of one person, the coldest looking person here.
Tan prepares himself to meet his brother. Won sees him and his smile immediately disappears.
Tan starts to say “hyung” but Won immediately calls him away from the party.
Eun Sang is in the orchard looking around. At the same orchard Tan and Won
Tan: it’s been three years. I’ve grown tall.
Won: That’s all you’ve done so far, right? Good. Do just that. Leave. Coming here was already going over. (Tan has a very sad expressions..poor him)
Eun Sang saw this exchange. Tan stands there heartbroken. Sprinklers water come on. Eun Sang slowly walks toward Tan, who is just getting wet. They stand facing each other, wordless.
Eun Sang: are you okay?.
Tan: I’m not okay
Eun Sang: you’re going to wet.
Tan: why did you eavesdrop?
E: So I can take your hand and run if you are in danger.
Tan: then why didn’t you? I was in danger the whole time you were watching. Tan walks away.
They head back. Tan is silent and Eun Sang stares.
Tan: Why?
Eun Sang: It's just too quite. Should we listen to the radio?
Tan: Forget what you saw.
Eun Sang: I was going to. This is just a dream. To end when I wake up. Just a midsummer night’s dream.
Tan crashes trying to avoid obstacle on highway. Car is now stuck. No cellphone connection.
Tan: you can’t drive right? ES ends up pushing car. ROFL.
Tan wants to go find reception.
Eun Sang is scared because of her movies. Tan jokes. Just stay here then. Aw, these two are cute.
They are walking to a roadhouse. Eun Sang is hungry. Eun Sang shows she bought something.
Tan: just one?
Eun Sang: one for mom too.
Tan asks what Eun Sang will do if CY replies.
Eun Sang: borrow money to go back to Korea.
Tan: I can give you money. Eun Sang refuses.
Tan tells her CY replied.
So gas station, tow place is closed. Tan bought the couple-T (I Love California!) shirt to change out of dirty clothes. And you guys are seeing what I am seeing. HEHE.
Tan: get change, then we can grab something to eat.
Eun Sang thinks: Darn, I should have peeked. ROFL.
They are having dinner..sausage.
Tan: It's the best food they can get since they're already closed.
Eun Sang: This is better than nothing. Thanks. I'll eat well..ooh..they even sell alcohol..
Tan: You drink too?
Eun Sang: Haven't you seen my hands shaking?
Tan: you’re kind cute.
Eun Sang: Good you know.
Tan keeps staring at her with this smitten smile on his face.
Eun Sang: stop looking, or else I will ask you something uncomfortable..
Tan: like what? Who was the person you met at the farm? Something like this?
Eun Sang: That's right
Tan: he's the person I most in the world. Do you have anything else you're curious about?
Eun Sang: Are you.perhaps....nothing..nevermind (maybe he's thinking he's gay)
Tan: I don't mind you think of me like that, but not to my hyung..
Eun Sang: oh..it's your hyung..then you like your own hyung!!
Tan: Hey!!
Eun Sang was shock and almost fell from her seat..here's the moment..Tan grab her from falling down..
Eun Sang: what?!
Tan: you almost fell.
Eun Sang: it's because of you..i was only joking
Tan: Why is your face red? Thinking dirty thoughts?
Eun Sang: what dirty thoughts? It's because I feel wronged
ES wanted to eat pancake in America. Tan says there is good pancake place in LA. Let’s go together. ES: stop making those kind of promises!!!!
Tan says he will take bed. He is surprised that Eun Sang is so positive about anything when she says it’s enough that he helped her this much.
Tan tries to wake her. ES pretends to sleep.
Tan: stop acting..I know you are not sleeping..get up, I wanna ask you something. If you don't get up..
Eun Sang automatically get up..
Eun Sang: Why? What is it?
Tan: why you want Jeguk group to go out of business.
Eun Sang: What: Did you read my SNS?
Tan: How can I not..It's been logged in..
Eun Sang: Why look? Log out while I ask you nicely..
Tan: i guess you really want them to go bankrupt..Why?
Eun Sang: It has nothing to do with you, do you have stocks in Jeguk? Why are you curious?
Tan: nevermind..keep watching me until I fall asleep.
Eun Sang: What?
Tan: because you keep talking about murders. I got scared..(lol)
Tan: Sleep after I sleep. It's the room fee
Eun Sang: Room fee?
Tan: just look..don't think perverted thoughts.
Eun Sang: As if there's anything I can look at..
Tan: It will take me a while to sleep...I have many things to think about..
Eun Sang is already sleepy..
Tan: if you get in contact with that guy, when will you leave?
Eun Sang: as fast as I can.
Tan just keeps staring and staring and falls deeper in love. Squee!
Next morning, Rachel gets message. CY thanks her for the address to Tan’s house.
Racheal: If you are grateful, then please clean her up.
Tan and Eun Sang are back. CY comes! ES looks very happy. CY expresses his worry. Tan snorts. Tan tells them to come in to the house. It's hot outside.
Eun Sang: Thanks, I’m going to my friend’s house.
Tan: why? Stay, just borrow money from him. Tan list her reasons why he is indebted to her for causing her trouble. She should stay.
Cy recognizes Tan. He doesn’t know him. “Did I bully you in High school?” CY doesn’t reveal how he knows him.
The taxi is here and Eun Sang leaves with CY.
Eun Sang talked about how she ended up with tan. She had learned his name was Tan just back there. She didn’t ask because she didn’t want to talk about herself. “did he really bother you?” CY answers, “He didn’t bully me but he is not a nice guy.” Eun Sang wants to borrow his money to return to Korea. He said to pay him slowly though. They went for a date..
CY told BN about ES. Of course BN calls and gets mad. CY talks to BN. Eun Sang sees “I love california shirt”
He just crashed on the bed..looked at the engagement photo frame
Tan: “it’s tomorrow.”
Rachel waits at hotel to leave the US cuz she is mad. Gets phone call from Tan. He calls her. He knows she was going to do. R knows Tan has an agenda it seems. R talks to mom. Mom tells her that she is going to say that Tan wanted to see her, not the other way around.
Official mom and Esther talks. Esther says something that lets us know that Esther lied and said she gave birth to Tan. Esther tells mom about her marriage. She asks about Tan and Young Do. Did they fight? Mom looks like she didn’t know that they two are not friends anymore.
YD and Myung So. There is photo of Tan and YD as good friends on all.
YD gets calls from dad. They do judo together. Dad keeps winning.
Dad complains about YD not doing his work. Do you know why you keep losing? One, you’ve never beaten me. YD: Cuz I’m more like mom than you.
Dad: 2) you attack more than you need. Go pick up R at airport.
R thanks Tan for spending time with her.
Tan: I like shopping with you. Anything else it will seem like we are dating. R asks about ES. Tan says it happened the way R wanted. She gave the number to CY, right?
YD calls R. He complains that she doesn’t need to be picked up. Tan asks is YD is doing well. R says YD is doing all what you two use to divide up.
Rachel suggest pancake. Tan suggest they go the pancake place Tan talked about to Eun Sang. He is open to Rachel about hoping to see Eun Sang there. Rachel says let’s bet if she is there.
Eun Sang is really there. Tan sees her. Rachel asks if they made a promise before. Tan says let’s leave for you. But Rachel is now mad. How is this for her now?
CY and Rachel are talking for the first time although they recognized each other as school mates.
Tan: Get up. Rachel to ES: it’s our engagement anniversary. Tan gives up.
Rachel asks how CY and Eun Sang know each other.
CY: we are childhood friends.
CY reveals they came here because ES wanted to come here to this pancake place.
Oooh, we learn that Tan dated BN before. Rachel criticizes Eun Sang for hanging out with someone who has a fiancé. Tan takes her out of there.
Tan and R.
Tan: we met when were were ten. At 13, you like Won. You called me a child. At ten you seemed like you were smart. Right now, you seem dumb. I’m not worth your attention.
Rachel and Won. They’ve met YD’s Zeus hotel chain. Won and Rachel both give vague answers about meeting Tan. Rachel wants to follow Won because she doesn’t want to be alone and just wait for a phone call.
Won is at his birth mom’s grave. Mom was a country girl (made wine and stuff) and got married to rich guy. Hard for her. Mom made a wine called Won.
Won has ever taken Tan here. Rachel is the first. Rachel says Tan will be jealous that she got to come. Uhm, these two should end up with each other.
Won tells secretary Yoon that he is staying in the US but tell CEO that he is in singappore.
Yoon and Esther meet with YD’s dad in the elevator. Tension.
Yoon and Esther exchange convo. 20 years ago, Esther got engaged to someone else. Esther pushes Yoon’s buttons.
Tan calls Yoon. Yoon lies that Won is on his way back to airport. Tan learns that CY is Yoon’s son. Tan calls CY. Tan wants to talk to Eun Sang. Tell her to call me.
Eun Sang's Sis still hasn’t come back. CY tells Eun Sang about Tan. Eun Sang decides not to call. “I won’t see him anymore after tomorrow, anyway.”
Tan waits for phone call but nothing.
ES has left her socks to dry outside but she forgot to pack them. Tan smiles looking at the socks.
ES writes message on University wall, “It was like a midsummer’s night dream. Now I am disappearing. Like yesterday’s dream. Bye.”
Tan has come to take Rachel to airport. Rachel asks if he has any plans to return to Korea.
Tan: always but I don’t have the courage.
Rachel: you need courage?
Tan: yes.
Rachel hugs Tan. Eun Sang sees this. Darn. Tan sees Eun Sang leave and calls out to here.
“Cha Eun Sang, stop right there.”
