There's a lot of things going on in this finale. So much talking. So many issues to be resolved..
Episode 20
Back on the rooftop, both boys are standing there staring at the city.
YD: It's cold..
KT: I'm cold and dark..
Back in silence as both in deep thought..
Tan met a lawyer (I think it's Myung Soo's mom) to change his proxy to Won. While Yoon met Won reporting regarding the stocks percentage holding of each person. Won calls for a meeting to gather all that is on dad's side. Out of all, only 2 showed up showing their loyalty to the chairman for 20 years. The others are having a meeting with JS. So is Esther, she want to support Kim Won but hasn't made up her mind yet.
Cy told Eun Sang what happened to dad Kim. Kim Tan went overseas with Chan Young's dad to meet every foreign stockholder in order to maintain Kim Won's position.While on the plane, Yoon asked Tan did he knew why he is being dragged along to meet the stockholders, he said since I am daddy's favorite..
Tan wrote a letter to Eun Sang, explaining the issues and warned her not to cheat on him..such a over jealous boyfriend indeed..he also gave her this cute doll...kyeopta..
YD and his dad are having a meal together. Dad said that he will turn himself to the prosecutor's office tomorrow and told YD not to worry about him. Keep doing the routine washing dishes at the hotel. The next day, Zeus lawyers went to meet YD. They console YD not to worry, everything is gonna be okay.
YD went to meet the student where he bullied before. As usual the boy is scared of him. YD explained that he came to apologized for what he did to him. The boy was quite shocked of YD's confession but refused to accept his apology. "If you really felt guilty, then feel it the rest of your life" he said..
ES send SNS to Tan saying that Seoul is a little colder without him. She saw YD’s dad on TV regarding his case and told Tan. She wonders what it feels like to watch Tan's family’s news on TV.
There's a few scenes of Tan and Yoon meeting the foreign stockholders. ES continues to talk about how Tan and YD and people like them had to bear in their young age. She also told him that the person drawing the body outline was not the same person. it might be Rachel, Myung Soo, and today, YD. ES couldn’t hate the kids after she found out. She wonders if Tan ever drew that outline. "I miss you, Kim Tan".
YD went to mom's cafe. He look at his mom from outside but when she turn he hides. Eun Sang's voice over "I wished that these kids will not experienced on hurt in their lives".
Tan and Yoon are flying back to Korea. One of the Chinese stockholder refused to sign the petition. Tan was worried.
They went to visit dad at the hospital. Hyung suggested that they move back to their house. Won told Tan that Zeus hotel is also part of their stockholders. He asked Tan to go and meet YD for the proxy since his dad is being investigated. Tan wants Won to promised to him he will still continue to keep doing business with Zeus Hotel in case anything bad happen to YD's dad.
Tan then went to meet Eun Sang at work. She saw him outside. He open his arms and she runs and hugged him. They went and talk inside the cafe. Eun Sang wonders if he did a good job, "yes, he said. He wants ES to hold his hand with her heart not with strength. He told her that he missed her.
Tan then left to meet YD. He is sorry for asking for help at these time but he really needs YD's help. YD agreed to help him as a compensation of insulting Tan's mom. Tan just continued with the conversation indicating that he has already accepted it. YD asked permission to leave. He wants to go wash the dishes, since that is the only thing that he can do right now.
Yoon in the other hand went to RS Intl to meet Esther for her help. She also agreed to help and wishes Yoon all the best (saying goodbye, I guess!)..Won went to meet the girl on the blind date. He also need her vote since she was also the stockholders. She asked him if it's okay if they got married? He just keep quiet...
It's the day of the voting. It ended up that Won successfully retained his seat. Tan, Won and mom is at the hospital waiting for dad outside the operation theater. It turned out that the surgery was successful and they just need to wait for dad to wake up.
YD went to his mom cafe again. This time he gathers the courage to walked in. Mom was shocked to see him there. He said "Annyeonghaseyo" in a sad tone..mom replied "How are you doing YD?" He replied "No"..auww this secene is soooo sad..he approached him and wipe his tears..she said that he had grew up tall and handsome..he called out, "Omma..Omma..and she hugged him...Mom apologized for not seeing him..YD puts his arms around her and cries..huwaa!!
At school, HS gave ES some books. He thanked her for being a warm person in his brutal school life. She wonders if he is going somewhere but he didn't replied..just smiled.
Rachel went to meet her mom at her workplace. Mom invited her to go on a vacation together. knew that she's taking sleeping pills and suggested that she take proper prescriptions. She went to the hospital and met HS there. He told her that he's going for military training. No one knows about it..Rachel asked him "Is there any girl waiting for you?" HS" hmm.."
Tan rushed to meet HS. He was mad that HS kept it a secret from him. HS told Tan that even his parents doesn't know about this matter. Tan wish him well and not to get hurt. He hugged him..
ES is at home, sorting the beans with mom, they are making beans flour. Mom told her that it's for her sister.She was angry at first but wants mom to tell unnie that they are happy. Mom asked if she's happy having her as her mom. She replied "Yes and I love you"..their conversation stopped by a phone call from Tan.
Tan invites ES to visit dad at the hospital. Dad has awaken and talking to JS. He had already knew what happened and wants to divorce her. She agreed but said that she will take half the worth of Jeguk.
Tan and Eun Sang arrived at the hospital. ES brought some books for dad to read. Tan asked dad to act fondly towards ES since the gather the courage to go there. ES said that she will repay back what she owed dad so stay healthy. Dad replied that he has to stay alive long enough then. ES offers to visit again but dad refused. But he said that he will read the books..
As promised, Tan and his mom are walking at Gangnam area together. Mom complaint that her feet hurt for wearing heels. She dream of being Miss Korea..(You are Miss Korea mom!!)
CY and dad went fishing. Later KW and Tan joined them, Yoon reminded KW regarding the final exam. He was very happy to hear that Tan is at 50th. Yoon is surprised why is he happy with the rank when all this while CY always ranked 1st. Won gave Tan this one look and Tan are mad wit CY. The adults then talked about some secret that Won hides from Tan but the news will be published tomorrow.
It turned out that Won has agreed to marry his blind date. HJ found out about the article at the bus stop and cried.
Won and HJ is at a café. She seems to hide her feelings.She wants Won has to keep his promise now. She takes out a wishbone and break it. Her bone piece is longer so she will makes a wish. “Let’s break up. That is my wish. Even though we sat close together, we were so far. It’s not something I didn’t know so don’t be sorry.” Won says he is sorry. HJ says she said she will wave to him. She rises her hand and waves. She says goodbye.
Won now sits at the café alone.
Won went home. Tan is waiting for him. Tan asked him regarding the marriage. Won explained that he is doing it for the sake of the company. That's the weight of the crown that he has to bear. Won asked Tan to stay by his side and stay in Korea. Tan needs to prepare himself to help Won later in business.
YD is at the motorbike shop. He looks at the helmet and saw the cut he got from washing the dishes the other day. He took out the band aid Eun Sang gave him and use it. He also recalls meeting ES there for the first time when she delivered the fried chicken.
Cy, BN and YS are playing card game. After losing the game, CY asked BN to kiss him for payment. This couple is so sweet..
At home, Tan received a parcel from his former school in US. The professor has returned him his notebook..inside he asked Tan, what kind of crown that he wants to wear, fame, wealth or love? Tan started writing in his notebook again.
Won is sitting in the Chairman’s study room, crying as he looks at the half break wishbone. Tan writes, “Won has reached the place he wanted, but he cries every night. Isn’t his exiled place is the house that he has lived his whole life?”
Tan narrates, he has became a senior in high school, something he never thought about. Tan walks to school. Sees MS, See Rachel but she ignored him. He sees CY and BN and they teased him about his low ranking again. Tans sees YD, they just walk past each other, but both have small smiles on their faces.
Tan says nothing changed as they didn’t learn how to make up well, but ES’s voice also says that they learned…
Tan meets up with ES at the bench, and he talks about a party ten years from now. So they imagine a party in the future when they are 28.
Everyone is there…it seems HS has come to become a director, and he invites R to the premiere, and R says she will think about it.
YD is talking to MS who went to the military late, YD is doing well with Zeus Hotel. Dad is still alive. JS, Tan and ES's mom are also at the party, looking happy.
Tan walks pass by everyone and went to his room. “Ten years from now I hope you are at the end of the road- that is the wish I made when blew out my birthday candles.” Tan finds ES in his room- they kiss.
Back to the present. Tan and ES says they hope this future comes true. They walk off holding hands. They recalls back how they turned their back on each other so many times. Letting go of each others hand. Walking away. ES narrates- still at 18 we ran toward each other, held hands, and tightly embraced one another.
Tan and ES walking on a snowy day. Tan is still talking about the meal that ES promised him. They joke and kid around. ES narrates that they might fall again, but, Tan narrates, we will keep going forward.
END of the final episode.I think this is the longest recap I've ever done for Heirs...till we meet again Lee Min Ho..
