KUALA LUMPUR, 14 March 2016 – 11street (www.11street.my) and their Brand Ambassador-cum-Korean superstar, Lee Min Ho will be hosting an online fundraising campaign to raise donations for Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor and Federal Territory (SCAS&FT), in hopes of purchasing a new physiotherapy equipment for the children with spastic cerebral palsy.
Cerebral palsy is a life-long neuro-developmental disorder and a majority of children with this disorder would suffer from physical and mental disabilities. At a global level, approximately 17 million people have cerebral palsy and the care is estimated to cost MYR4.47billion per year[1]. SCAS&FT is the largest independent spastic center in Malaysia, and has become a vital link to bring hope to spastic children.
“Even with less than a year’s operation, 11street is continuously seeking for ways to contribute back to society. We at 11street emphasize on the culture of paying-it-forward to celebrate a better society. The donation to SCAS&FT is to ensure that these families with special needs children are given the assistance they deserve by investing in their rehabilitation programme that focuses on the children’s mobility training, muscle strength and coordination as well as improving their joint movements,” said 11street Chief Executive Officer, Hoseok Kim.
Apart from reducing the financial burden of the organization, this partnership between 11street and SCAS&FT aims to raise public awareness for children with cerebral palsy and debunk the common misunderstanding that the children will never be able to become independent. Although cerebral palsy is a lifelong disability, there are many interventions that can help reduce its impact on the body and improve the individual’s quality of life.

“All children are our future and hope and they deserve our love and care. Cerebral palsy is a disorder that many people talk about but few understand. Though many are familiar with the term, there are a lot more about the disorder that people fail to recognize, especially the struggles of providing these special kids with the best treatment they deserve,” said Lee Min Ho, 11street’s Brand Ambassador.
“The charity sale will help to provide these children with equal opportunities and a better life, and one day dismiss the misconception of a child born with cerebral palsy or other disabilities will have difficulty adapting to the world,” he added.
