Starhaus Entertainment has confirmed that Lee Min Ho will star in the highly-anticipated film, "Bounty Hunter." The 27-year-old star will join the project, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2016. According to a report by the publication Star News, "Bounty Hunter" is a cooperative project that will involve several Asian entertainment companies including Starhaus Entertainment production, Pegasus Motion Pictures, and Harmony Entertainment.
"Bounty Hunter" will be shot against the backdrop of cities in several Asian countries including Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The ambitious project is part of an effort to create a pan-Asian representation of Hollywood.
According to the report by Star News, Lee was selected for his martial arts and action abilities. These skills were demonstrated in the crime drama, "City Hunter" and his breakout role in the film noir, "Gangnam 1970."
The article went on to state that the actor will be joined by some of the most prominent stars in Asia and China, for the film. Director Terra Shin, who was previously responsible for the movies "My Girlfriend is a Secret Agent" and "Runway Cop," is expected to be at the helm of the project.
Star News also provided further information regarding the domestic plans of the Hallyu star. According to the article, he is contemplating additional projects in Korea. His last Korean drama role was in the 2013 hit teen series, "The Heirs."
