Actor Lee Min-ho was chosen as the hallyu star Chinese fans would most want to receive candy from on White Day in a recent poll, once again confirming his status as a leading Korean celebrity.
In a poll conducted by Mwave, a Chinese website dedicated to hallyu, Lee received more than 60 percent of the votes as the celebrity fans would most like to receive tokens of love from on White Day.
White Day was first introduced in Japan as a day on which men give candy and gifts to women.
The event, introduced in Japan as a marketing gimmick, is now widely celebrated in Korea, China and Japan.
In the poll, Lee was followed by Ji Chang-wook, who received about 25% of the votes.
