Is there anyone who still thinks that
Lee Min Ho gained a sudden fame through his success in the drama, ‘Boys
over Flowers’? Today’s Lee Min Ho is undeniable top star. His unequaled
existence as a star started in 2009 when he started the drama ‘Boys over
Flower’ with age of 23. There is a key to his success; the experiences
and know-how’s that his life threw at him before he met the drama, ‘Boys
over Flowers’

accident when he was around 20.
Let’s take a look at Lee Min Ho’s life graph.
Despite his nonstop growth
of his fame after ‘Boys over Flowers’, he had slump periods in the
past. He picked the car accident in 2006 when he was 20 as the worst
crisis in his life. Due to the accident, his right femur and ankle were
shattered and he had to be in the hospital for a year. Although it isn’t
disclosed, Lee Min Ho’s injury was so serious that his doctor’s
diagnosis was a shock to him.
The physical and mental pain that the accident cost him could be
observed through the bottom-hitting line he drew for the time. About the
accident, Lee Min Ho noted, “The incident marked a new ear in my life.
There was nothing I could do except lying on the bed and staring at the
ceiling.”
When he was in high school, he started nurturing his dream of becoming
an actor and started studying acting. After the accident, he had to
watch his friend Jung Il Woo started gaining fame through the sitcom,
‘High Kick’. He was at the height of auditions at the time and his
success was predicted by the staff of the acting industry. He was also
mentioned to be on the sitcom ‘High Kick’. But because of the accident,
his appearance on the show was canceled and everything seemed falling
apart to him. He would have thought to himself ‘why me?’ His inner
struggle would have been great. The only thing that brought him back up
on his feet was ‘the power of positivity’.
After he settled his shock
somewhat, he thought to himself that he couldn’t let himself fall into
the bottomless pit. He started controlling his mind through talking to
his family or close friend. Spencer Johnson’s ‘The Present’ helped him a
lot as well. Reading about the value of present, not past, not future,
he slowly started to get back on his feet.

Lee Min Ho’s positive mindset can also be observed from the life line he
drew. The drama ‘Run Mackerel’ he starred after recovering from the
injury was an unfortunate drama that ended in 8 episodes. Despite the
fact, Lee Min Ho didn’t say it was a misfortune. Rather, he said, “The
drama was a great experience and lesson.”
# Finally rise as a star, Lee Min Ho meets ‘Boys over Flowers’ [Refer to

After recovering with his positivity, at the age of 23, Lee Min Ho
finally met his life-changing piece, ‘Boys over Flowers’. The heat was
tremendous. In 3 episodes, the ratings went over 20%. Every little
detail about the drama and Lee Min Ho’s personal life became news. Lee
Min Ho, never shot a CF after his debut until ‘Boys over Flowers’,
started getting love-calls for CFs after only 2 weeks of the drama.
“The thought of what would have happened if I didn’t’ take the role on
‘Boys over flowers’? Of course I have done it. I think I would have
filmed few more works as a supporting star and maybe would have gotten a
lead role by now.”

As it can be acknowledged from the life graph, Lee Min Ho is growing
without losing his place as a top star by filming one piece a year. He
stated that he learned responsibility the most in the past five years
until 2013. As a 27, Lee Min Ho says there are times where the work is
no longer as fun as it used to be when he was younger.
Due to increasing
amount of various things that he needs to pay attention to, it isn’t
always easy for him to concentrate. When he hears that someone gained
courage to go through with his life after watching his work, he feels
the power and the responsibility his job has.

“When I realize that this job can give hope and courage to people more
than one might think, I feel the responsibility. Gaining more fame and
fans means that I have more people to give hope and courage to. So I try
to fulfill the responsibility by trying harder.”
With the leading role in director Yoo Ha’s action series 3, ‘Land gate,
Gangnam 1970’, Lee Min Ho accepted the challenge of being on the screen
for the first time since he gained fame from ‘Boys over Flowers’.

“Although I acted as a student born in 1996 in ‘The Inheritors’, I will
be delivering manly role in the movie. I will start working out in
January and I expect to have lost quite a bit of weight by the time the
movie comes out. I also think that I would age after the movie because
of that too, but I want to show my other side as an actor through the
movie.”

Lee Min Ho’s life graph during his childhood is also interesting. He
picked his first peak in his life as the period during his ‘soccer dream
team’. As known by many, Lee Min Ho was considered as a rising soccer
star and was selected to be on highly competitive soccer class of Cha
Bum Keun. It is told that his desire for winning was so great that he
wailed when he lost a game. At age of 12, however, he broke his arm
during a game. Because of his father’s intend to let Lee Min Ho study
rather than play soccer in addition to the injury, Lee Min Ho stopped
playing soccer and spent a “normal” childhood.

The period would have been the most ordinary in his life. But since he
was casted for many times due to his unusual appearance, his ordinary
life differs from the typical life others would have had. He was a
senior in high school when he decided to become an actor after rejecting
castings two times.
Accepted to cinematography at Konkuk University in his 20, Lee Min Ho
wanted to become an actor who could touch the audiences’ heart rather
than become a star.
The period where he studied acting and auditioned is
marked as ‘happiness’ on the graph he drew.

With 2 years left until he becomes 30, Lee Min Ho still has the prudence
he had when he started acting. He stated that he is going to fight with
himself fiercely to become a better actor all through his 20s but he
does not want to have an affected change due to attentions from others.

“I will still be an actor after I turn 30. The thought that I don’t need
to show more stimulating change that the public don’t really want when I
would be able to show a changed look naturally as a age came to me in
2013.”
Now, if you have looked at the life graph of Lee Min Ho, you would no
longer think that he is a star that fell from the sky all of the sudden.
You also would have understood Lee Min Ho’s secret (?) of controlling
the weight of the crown as a star. The one thing we are now curious
about is his future which Lee Min Ho himself marked with a question
mark. It is not the height of the graph we should be curious about. It
is the depth his life would acquire through his growth as an actor with
