Lee Min Ho & Jun Ji Hyun Confirmed For A New Drama!

Writer "Park Ji Eun" is chasing a new duo for "The Legend of the Blue Sea"

The famous writer has chased the duo actor Lee Min Ho and actress Jeon Ji Hyun that has been confirmed for a copyright from China with a high payment of 500,000 US$ per episode (probably 59,365 Million KRW), which rumored to be the highest payment that has been offered for Korean Drama copyright.

This is likely happened to the drama that started the Hallyu Wave in China "You Who Came From The Stars" which also came from the hands of the writer Park Ji Eun and SBS. "The Legend Of The Blue Sea" (Tentative Working Title) would be starring the duo Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyun that recently was at the peak of their career, the pair have been confirmed and finalized, taking the synopsis.

Both of their respective agencies confirmed on 30th of May "More details would be given after we got more information probably between this week". "Both of the actor and actress have meet and on agreement with writer Park Ji Eun" was what the agencies confirmed.

"The Legend of The Blue Sea", thanks to both of the actor and actress popularity, has received a lot of calls and offer from Chinese Film Distributor. Some companies offered even the amount of 50 Million KRW per episode, others can even offered until 60 Million KRW, and the deal can probably reached between 50-60 Million KRW per episode.

This amount was known to be twice the amount of "Descendants of The Sun" which reach the amount of US$ 270,000 per episode. If the drama was made by 20 episodes, perhaps the total amount can reach around 1-1,2 Billion KRW.

The waiting for the drama has reached beyond expectation especially this would be the first comeback drama of Jeon Ji Hyun after giving birth, especially with Lee Min Ho that has almost reached 30 Million followers in Chinese SNS Weibo. It was said that Jeon Ji Hyun has already prepared a full-scale preparation especially on the costume concept and shooting with celebrities stylist.

Chinese Entertainment Media HyeonJi stated "We have exclusive contract with Descendants of The Sun and we knew that we gain a lot of soaring high profit on Korean Dramas", "This proof the popularity and Chinese reaction of the hot pre-produced drama. However, we are still on dealing phase with Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyun's drama since it's still unknown".

On the other hand, "The Legend of The Blue Sea" would be a work inspired and motivated by Hans Christian Andersen's Classic Fairy Tale "The Little Mermaid". Previously, writer Park Ji Eun has actually submitted 2 titles "The Legend of The Blue Sea" and "Stay" to the Korean Copyright Commission, and has decided on the title "The Legend of The Blue Sea".

Lee Min-ho’s Promiz wins Korea Good Brand Awards

Promiz, a fundraising platform designed by actor Lee Min-ho, has won the Korea Good Brand Awards, Lee’s agency MYM Entertainment said Thursday.

Founded in June 2014, Promiz has come up with projects involving Lee’s fans. Promiz operated the nonprofit “Good Market,” which saw all profits going to charity. Promiz’s web platform “Knock” donates 100 won (8 cents) per new subscriber to the website, which aims to surpass 100,000 subscribers.

According to MYM Entertainment, the project has donated some 400 million won in total -- with 350 million in cash, and 50 million in products. Such proceeds went to various communities including Holt Children’s Services, UNICEF and Food Bank.

Promiz is not Lee’s only project for a good cause To mark the 10th anniversary since his debut, Lee was involved in a project in Inner Mongolia where he and his fans planted 510 trees. Lee’s Mexican fans gathered used bottles and bottle caps, and donated profits from the collection to young leukemia patients.

The state-sponsored Korea Good Brand Awards is designed to recognize brands that have a high level of confidence from customers.

Jeong Il-woo confirmed for alternative military service, same for Lee Min-ho: both affected by the previous serious car accident

In August, 2006, two friends of the same age went on a trip together to Kangwon-do. The trip was filled with the fluttering anticipation as it was the first trip for the two to go on after they became adults. However, the trip could not even begin. A car from the other direction crossed the yellow central divider line and crashed into their vehicle. The happy beginning of their trip turned into the horrible car accident.
This is the actual story about the hallyu stars, Lee Min-ho and Jeong Il-woo.
Lee Min-ho and Jeong Il-woo have been rated for Public Interest Service. This is the result of the military physical examination for conscription that they received 10 years ago. Ministry of National Defense at the time made the decision that it would be impossible for them to enlist in active service regardless their enlistment date.
The result is due to the aftereffects of the car accident. In the car accident, the driver and the passenger in the vehicle that caused the accident deceased in the car accident. And Lee Min-hoJeong Il-woo and other victims got injured seriously.
Lee Min-ho was hospitalized for seven months. The injury in his legs was serious especially. He had fractures in his right thigh bone and his ankle. Also the cartilage in his knees was torn. Although a 46 cm metal rod was implanted for the emergency surgery, his body could not recover to the condition before the car accident 100%. The lengths of his legs are different due to the surgery.
Jeong Il-woo also was injured seriously as well. Right after the car accident, he experienced concussion and cerebral hemorrhage. He was also diagnosed with partial memory loss.
His wrist injury was the most serious one. His wrist bones were crushed into pieces and his left pelvis bone was fractured, which could not reach the full recovery even until now.
The reason why the aftereffect of the car accident has lasted this long is because he could not go through the consistent treatment. Jeong Il-woo appeared in the sitcom 'High Kick!' only after going through the initial four month treatment.
He could not follow through the rehabilitation treatment in oder to fit into the filming schedule at the time. And the symptoms became worse due to the action acting and other acting involving strenuous physical activities.
It is the same case for Lee Min-ho. He could not complete the treatment due to his schedule for 'Boys over Flower'. Also, to make things worse, he had another car accident while filming the recent movie, "City Hunters" where half of the car was destroyed.
Their enlistment dates have not been confirmed yet. The two stars have fully packed schedule this year. Lee Min-ho is waiting for the Korea – China joint movie "Bounty Hunters" to be released soon and he is also confirmed to appear in writer Park Ji-eun's new drama.
Jeong Il-woo also is filming the forthcoming drama, 'Cinderella and the Four Knights'. He has schedule in China and other international locations as well.
It seems that the enlistment date will be decided after they have accommodated and adjusted the planned schedule. Lee Min-ho's agency said, "The specific enlistment date has not been set. He will continue his activities until then".

Lee Min Ho's Military Enlistment Revealed

Lee Min Ho’s aency, MYM Entertainment, revealed details about the actor’s enlistment and said, “Will serve as a public service officer regardless of when he decides to begin his military service. We are looking at early next year.”
The decision to enlist the actor as a public service officer instead of an active duty soldier comes from a history of physical injuries due to car accidents. In 2006, Lee Min Ho was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in a leg injury that required the insertion of metal screws. Although the surgical procedure had no negative affect on his daily life, he got the metal screws removed when they got in the way of filming action scenes.
Furthermore, when filming for drama “City Hunter” back in 2011, he was involved in another car accident that destroyed half of the vehicle he was in. Thus, his poor condition during his physical check-up qualified Lee Min Ho to serve as a public service officer when he begins his mandatory military service.
Last month Lee Min Ho stated in a Chinese interview, “I have not decided exactly when I will start my military service.” He is currently slated to appear on a SBS drama written by Park Ji Eun at the end of this year, which will likely be Lee Min Ho’s last work before enlisting. The actor is also looking forward to the premiere of his first Chinese film, “Bounty Hunters.”
